Cracked a Wheel :( where to find a new one?
I guess I cracked my wheel and will probably need a new one. What is the part number? Where do I find one except the dealer since they will prob charge me a lot?
The car is Cobalt 09 SS
Thanks

doh that is expensive... i can just buy 4 MSR from whoever had that deal some while ago. They said they can try to weld it but it was not a small crack.
It is confirmed that the 18" MSR 045 style fits over Brembos right? Also will the original size 225/40/18 tires go on those I couldn't find that info anywhere.
Thanks

hmm no idea. The crack is on the inside too, it starts from the rim and goes in an inch or so. Probably drove through a rock that hit the side who know. It made my tire flat. I actually got lucky cause I drove 4 hrs to get home from a football game Sunday and I would guess it happened then but my tire didn't go flat until the following morning.

oh i had no idea, thanks. I'll call the dealer tomorrow too and see what they can do for me.
Must've taken something pretty serious to crack it. Driving down the interstate the drive shaft from the guy in front of me dropped out and i still hit it with my front right wheel. Shredded the tire and bent the wheel but no cracks. Fortunately the guys insurance has to fix everything, dealer is charging almost 700 for just the wheel. Total for everything is over 1200.
Back to on topic, a lot of the wheels linked above have a make offer link. Considering how limited the market is for individual ss wheels, try and throw out a low ball offer and see if you get lucky. Especially with this economy you might be surprised at what people will take.

Yes, the MSR would have fit over the Brembos, confirmed.
They are also heavier.
The stock wheel isn't "crazy light"; it's about 23-25lbs.
If you ever wanted to drag race your car, you would be served well by getting some Ion Redline wheels from a pick-a-part, junkyard, ebay, or whatever, and they only go about 100/wheel on avg.
From what I remember, they are about 18lbs/wheel, a significant savings.
They usually fit over Brembos, are 17" & 5x110, and are easier to find drag radials/slicks for them.

Although we are not "officially" affiliated with them, we've had luck referring people to TRANSWHEEL Corporation as they refurbish and sell OE wheels.
They are worth a try !
