Haha don't worry I would, no sense in passing something off as something they're not. I'm leaning more towards the Torques though. Why have the fake version of your wheels? Lol that'd make me look real bad

Could you actually be lower by running a 17" wheel as opposed to an 18"? Dumb question I'm sure

yes. for example, a 215/40/17 is 23.8" tall. 215/40/18 is 24.8"

How would that make you look bad? It would give you that nice same look for less of the cost.

if fake LM's would "make you look bad" then why would torques be any better?

Because atleast with fake Torques they're won't be a Cobalt with the legit version. If I got the BBS reps not only would I have fake wheels, but another member would have the real ones

Game, set, match. There's no winning in the stance game.

Ok, so how safe are wheel adapters? Are they safe for the drag strip, autocross, etc?

when compared to stock, they are less safe. in a sense they are changing the whole geometry of the suspension by putting the weight of stuff out farther. that being said, i think your chances of something going wrong are higher when drag racing and autocross since that stuff puts strain on those areas to begin with.

an adapter is the same as running a spacer...

people just use adapters when too think of a spacer is needed. or when changing bolt patterns.

I'm just not wanting to go new hubs/rotors yet, don't really have the funds for it yet. I'm worried about losing a wheel in the middle of a highway race or something like that

assuming you are doing all 4 corners, its gonna cost you like 150 bucks for a good set. and for that, you can get your stuff redrilled. the only reason i know is because i was in your spot about 3 months ago lol figured i better do it right

Will any tire/brake shop do that? And then I'd have to buy new rotors, right?

Like I said, I'm still very new to this lol

there is a machine shop here in town that said they could probably redrill them for me. including the rotors. i have a spare hub that is already drilled and studded to a 5x114.3 so they can use that as a template
