You have stance coils? Remove the bottom ring and thread the perch all the way up

i removed the bottom perch and then took a locking ring out. then unscrewed the spring down to that level

ill put the pic on facebook josh hold on

Don't touch the spring. The spring should have just a tiny amount of preload on it so it doesn't move around.

i adjusted the spring there is some play now and no preload...are you saying to just screw the perch up then. when i removed the locking ring there was a gap and i just unscrewed the spring not the perch
