+1. In my opinion the stance game is saturated with the same few cars, not that hate majority don't look good, but it's nice to see a different car come into the picture every now and then.

Put a 245 35 on there and slit the quarters pull them out, weld a section in so they look oem so they clear so you can dump the car and roll it if you want or have an even cleaner look .
You mean run a wide body kit? Find me one decent custom made wide body kit or flares that you can add to a Cobalt that would even look halfway decent. You sound like a knowledgable dude Omio from what I've read in the past but going to flares and wide body kits is just plain ridiculous to say on a Cobalt stance thread. This isn't no rocket bunny BRZ here.

Not sure if many of the stance nuts on here would even consider your minor drop to be stance but maybe I've missed something in the past 350 pages of being on this thread. That's not to sound dickish either but you've been more form fitment rather than stance fitment.

The **** do people come on a stance thread and talk **** about it?

In Omiotek's deference he's with PWerks and is all about handling and tracking the cars, I'd personally love a wide body to fit say 10'' wheels and 265 tires.

Steviodaddio stance doesn't mean stretched tires to the max if you hit a pot hole you blow a wheel out. Stance is the way a car can sit you dipstick. Can mean from meaty fitment to stretched fitment. Before you talk **** please tell me your cars still on lowering springs and basically stock??

I had plently of compliments on this thread on my car buddy so run your mouth. Still get compliments.

I wanted to do the whole "fitment" stance thing with my HHR...just wasn't in the cards for me. Couldn't find the wheels I wanted with the right bolt pattern and I'm not running spacers and adapters...just not my cup of tea. I'm old school...been in the game since imports with loud mufflers, blue xenon halogens, and 17x7" wheels were the cool thing to do...coilovers and replacing springs was for cars in the import tuner magazines. I may not be poking and I may not be close to flush...but I'm sitting on Ksport coils and MY "stance" is just right for me. That being said I love everyone's ride that comes in here on a regular basis and post. It's something I will eventually do when I have the right car to do it with. We're just so limited (especially us wagon guys).

#fuckyourfitment (j/k guys...much love)

I'm not hating on Omniotek, I've seen what PWerks do and it's damn amazing. I'd love to run a wide body kit that didn't look like absolute garbage, it's just really not the going thing in the stance game with small tuner cars, especially Cobalts. I think the only wide body kit ever mocked up was SSteveSC's 6.0 "Gobalt". It looks extremely unnatural although understandable for what Steve did to the rear suspension. In fact I really like what Omio had to say about garage queens and other cars that people are afraid to get dirty.

If you "stance" a car out your goal is trying to sit flush or as low to the ground as possible, hence running stretched tires to bring your body down to the lip of the wheel without rubbing.. This **** goes all the way back to the 70s in Japan. I don't know who taught you what stance meant but I think you're a little off. Guys who track their cars typically aren't stancing their cars but lowering it to bring the center of mass down, although a few on here are pretty damn low and track theirs. It's proven that you're taking away from a cars maneuverability when you bring it below a certain level that is varied by each cars suspension, but I'm sure everyone knew that without it even being said. I'm entirely stock, I'm not even afraid to admit it. Given my situation at the time I'm not looking to put my money into another SS or stance my car quite yet. I wouldn't feel good having a stanced car and living at my parents house, lmao.

I never said your car looks bad, in fact it was one of my favorites on here with how clean it was although I would never consider it StanceNation or StanceWorks stanced that I'm heavily in to. If you don't like stretched tires and low lows you're in the wrong thread.

I think the point of low cars and stretched tires is to **** people off. If its pissing you off, you dont get it, or youre too old.

Stevio... No I don't mean widebody. I literally mean as it sounds. You slit the quarter at the same radius as it currently is pull to the desired level and form a piece of sheet metal weld it in and make it pretty. Slit the bumpers add in some plastic so they match the added width of the quarters and fenders. Of course his is a lit of worth but when your said and done it looks oem

All I'm saying is these are cobalts. Cobalts can't pull it off like other cars because the way the rear suspension was designed unless you do custom work which imo isn't worth it but everyone to it's own. Never considered my car slammed by any means but it was tastefully dropped couldn't go any lower or the bottom of my front coils would rub my axle boots.

lol his car is admirable and unbelievably low but it is in no way clean. Especially for a car in literally the easiest state to drive & keep mint.

I'd love to see you attempt that and see the final product. It sounds fairly straight forward if you could find someone to do it.

If VW guys said that they'd be in the same boat we're in. Takes a few ballsy ones to lead the way and people follow suit because they know it can be done.

ive done it in the past not on this car because i havent had the need for anything more then a 245 40.... to give you an idea though heres a solstice i did awhile back that made gm hightech magazine.... no slit was added here but this car had 295/40/19 pirelli corsas in the rear. Major stretch/pull and reform the quarters for a stock apperence. even though this car wasent tucking the tires it very well could if the customer wanted it. On this job you physically could not stretch the metal anymore without cutting it apart. filler was used so take care of and slight wrinkles or imperfections in the metal
