this is when you pull metal beyond its limit trying to fit 19x10.5s on a car they dont belong on.

all finished up

my opinion is the coupe quarter panels on the cobalts are too large for a pull to look right. your best bet is have it sectioned out farther to look like the oem quarter but still be able to tuck a large wheel. costs a lot of money as your going to have to paint the quarters BUT if you chip the paint or buckly the quarters trying to pull them your going to paint them anyways so who cares?

Local member, sedan. Has 9.5 in the rear on a 225 sitting under the fender no buckling...

you not understanding what im saying.... trying get a 9.5 wide wheel with a legitamitly wide tire in there... no stretching of the tire itself.... im saying like a 245/45/18 or something along those lines.

also are his fenders pulled or rolled? if their rolled thats not what im talking about. pulling is totally different....

also you said SEDAN. thats the key there. the structure of the quarter panels is 100% completely different as its shorter then the coupes. the coupes on the other hand DO NOT like to be pulled far by all means. they can be rolled as they have a semi roll from the factory

even the guy with the sedan says so..... my points proven. ive tested the strengths on a lot of gm metals as far as pulling the quarters out.... the kappas, deltas and a few other buckle being pulled out anymore..

theres a guy on gmsc. his names alex.. hes tucking 19x9.5" all the way around on 245/40/19s i believe. they sectioned in a piece of metal and they look oem as can be. thats the correct way to do it.

metal can only go so far and be stetched before is elastic strength gives way and it just holds no matter what you do to it. if your pulling to somewhere its shrinking somewhere else. its a hard task to master and without a splice and section its very hard to keep the metal in place. them quarters i did on the solstice are beyond where the should be and u had to back quarters with another piece to get them to stay

for all you guys that roll the lips and have no paint. you need to get a paint from 3m. its black silica paint. its a corrosion protective primer. if it wears off or comes off just reapply it. comes in a sealed bottle. will help keep your quarters from rusting.

pretty much this.... or dont use AS wide or as high of an offset rim. its unfortuante. the cobalt just isnt an easy car to "stance" requires some body work to look right if you pull or want nice big tires in there.

not really. how does height have to do with width?
a 19 would be easier to tuck then an 18 because of that extra inch. It wont be as low as a tucked 18 or 17..
