CSS Style aggressive fitment thread! Part 2
lawlz, it's only the fact that each time you buy a knockoff item, it supports the cheaper undercutting side of the industry.
even ricers (when it wasn't considered ricer) back in the 90's would buy the nice **** because that's how the industry was. people had pride in their cars and wouldn't be caught dead with knockoff ****, stolen **** yes, but no knockoffs lmao.
i'm not bashing dom, i just wish that people would realize what they are doing by undercutting the real companies. the economy is hard enough as it is on these major companies.

i can guarantee, that the quality you get with the name brand wheels will never be matched in a knock off.

i don't know why you think all good name brand wheels are $5000, but R&D work, manufacturing costs, shipping marketing... it all add's up. plus, as with any good name brand, you eventually start paying for the name itself.

I know not all good wheels are 5k+. If I go aftermarket. I'll be going with ForgeStars. And the ones I want would come to about $1300. Good, Quality, Lightweight wheels at an affordable price. The ones I was referring to were the HRE's and the company that produces the authentic version of Dom's wheels. Sure, they're gorgeous wheels. But $5k...for an appearance mod?....I'll pass.
i paid $2600 for my wheels, with rays lugs, valve stems and center caps brand new. i shopped around and found some hook ups.
PS. I'm not condoning buying MSR wheels. A set of 18x8's for less than $500 bucks spells trouble on potholes
Even $2600 is totally acceptable. You're getting genuine, quality pieces, that you know won't have issues. But wheels that cost like $1300 a piece is just ridiculous. There's a difference between making a quality look-alike at $300-400/wheel with good materials and a crappy look-alike for $100/wheel with questionable materials.

"Legit" racing wheels are built to race specs and are made to endure a hard life on the race track. 90% of the time, we are driving between 30-60mph. We DON'T need to have wheels that match in durability to a race wheel. If people want to waste their money on them, so be it. Myself and 95% of the population won't.
Just to clarify, I am referring to wheel manufacturers such as BBS, HRE, VOLK, Etc. Not affordable brands such as Enkei

Nothing wrong with that, they are sick wheels. Just saying that not many people are willing to spend that kinda money.
Let me make another clarification. I'm not talking down to people that buy expensive wheels. I'm explaining why there is a big difference in pricing between brand name wheels and knock off wheels and why people are drawn towards the knock offs.
No different than chicks walking around with fake Coach and L.V purses.

I would never buy fake anything, that goes for designer clothing, purses, or wheels(I get the real deal
). I'd rather spend $ on making my car fast than making it drag its frame on the ground...but to each their own. When I buy my HRE's no one will be saying **** lol. I actually prefer the look of the stock wheels over a lot of these "legit"(even though what people have here I'd hardly consider legit) wheels. Except for the ones no one has! I also didn't do it the ghetto way, mine are powdercoated.
HRE's are the real deal
my .02 is that if u really enjoy what u do and are willing to do whatever it takes to make ur project exactly what u want... ull wait and save for the part u cant live without..
such as riss taking her time to buy HRE's or volks.. or whichever she chooses..
or will putting the car down for a bit.. and pulling out his wallet for the PRS twisting beam and 114 swap..
the list goes on
or slobalt picking up multiple sets to mix it up all the time.. for example

HRE's are the choice now, since 1.) factory is about one and half hours from me and 2.) they will make any bolt pattern you want. Lol. If people want to buy knock offs fine. Just don't try to pass them off as the real thing.
