Question Do 235/40/18's rub with Sportlines?

I finally found a wheel I really like, these 18x8 Boss wheels, but I really want some wider tires as well. I would rather pay more for a better street compound that does well in dry conditions with just a little little bit of wet performance. I don't ever plan on driving it when its raining, but if it starts raining when I'm driving, I want to be able to get home safe.

I'm putting Eibach sportlines on soon. Would 235/40/18's rub when turning? I could drop to a 235/35/18 too, but I would really like the 235 series tire if possible to have that little tire bulge to protect the chrome some.

Here's a pic of the wheels

I've heard that 235 will fit. But hearing and seeing are 2 totally different things.

It will fit 100%. I just got my 235/40/18 tires installed today and I'm dropped on sportlines. No rubbing at all...even while turning.

I'll have some better pictures after this rain stops...probably tuesday.

Hmmm... Well it would seem to me that if a 18x7.5 wheel with a tire that is 9.25" wide will clear, then a wheel that is 18x8 with the same size tire would still clear, right? I'm really not an expert here, but wouldn't the widest point still be 9.25"?

You should be in the clear. Jackalope has sportlines and I'm pretty sure he's running 245/40/18 on an 18x8 with no problems.
