Thumbs up Drag slick/radial possibilities

i know a lot of people want to run a drag slick or radial while at the track so i thought i'ld make a list of all the RECOMENDED possibilities for 16" wheels. link to pictures will be UNDER the tire they represent.

FWIW I have a set of M/T ET Streets on a spare pair of 17" wheels and I like them A LOT. I also see and hear great things about the Nitto 555r's.

I don't know how I would rate a BFG KDW as a drag tire - I run them as my street tires. Grabby as hell, but you might want to look for the BFG g-force T/A drag radial. Unfortunately, though, I'm afraid you might have to step up to a 225/45/r17 on a 17" rim to fit them in your wheel wells - unless you can fit a 255/50/r16. I have heard excellent things about the g-force T/A, though - and they still have that neato tread pattern the KDW2's have.

255/50/16 fit fine. but i didn't find any of the T/A radials in that size. and the reason i put the KDWs on there is BECAUSE they're grabby as hell. but find me a link to a nice sized t/a radial and i'll put it up there

They have the g-force T/A drag radial in a 255/50/16 listed here - you should be able to get it anywhere that sells the tires.

And the KDW's aren't NEARLY as grabby as a drag radial, trust me on this. They'll bite hard in corners but if you push them they'll spin just like any other street tire - they are sticky, though.

wow really good info exsoccor. its nice to see some people on this site that actually want to help other people.

Also I was looking at throwing a set of d/r's on a set of stock 18's but after a while of searching couldn't find anything that I thought would fit in the wheel well. does anybody know of any drag radials that will fit?

i understand that a 16" radial will do much better at the track than an 18" but I don't drive my car everyday so the wear on them i'm not worried about and it would be nice to have some extra grip for the occasional street race without really showing it with 16's

then just search around for a radial that'l fit a 7" wide wheel. and it won't be in like a 26/10.5/16 type of readout. it'll be in like a 245/40/18 type of read out.

don't go by the sized i just said, i was using those as examples
