Drag tire help?
Well, next spring/summer/fall im looking to really get into racing at the track and i would like to purchase some drag radital tires. I currently have a cobalt LS sedan 5spd. By spring my turbo will be installed and im looking to get some 15" rims. Would this be too small of a rim or the smaller the better. Also im lowered on SSC springs so not sure how that affects my choices of tires. Please anyone with some info help me out. Im new to tire sizes and all. Thanks
BTW heres a pic of my car lowered if that will help determine the size tire i need

DO NOT get Nitto 555's for drag tires. they are not even drag radials. in fact they are the hardest compound tire i have ever had.
hold on I will search for the thred and post it for you. there are really cheap steelies that match with mickey thompsons for like 500 or 600 dollars total. I'll look for it now. and i think they are 15 in wheels.

thats a sticky in the wheels and tires section. and just find some drag slicks or radials to fit those. you will have no problem fitting any tire you buy under stock ss springs im sure

i have 26 x 10.50 x 16 and have the same springs as you and my DRs are f**king huge... biggest tire you could possibly fit on the cobalt and they clear everything by 1/2" but rub in reverse with the wheel turned all the way, only in reverse though so i wouldent reccomend anything bigger

well havent been to the track since stage 2 and they were 2.2 with stock tires right now only thing i have to go off of is my scanforce and it says 1.8 but im not sure if the tires are spinning just a tiny bit when i first drop the clutch so that would make it off by a little it also says im doing the 1/4 in 13.48 wich i would say is right on
