Goodbye PZero Nero's, Hello Eagle GT's ...

Was VERY disappointed with the treadwear on my PZero Nero All Seasons.

I put 16,000 on them over the last 2 years, never drag raced or autoX it ... and they're almost down to the first tread wear bar.

Not trusting them in snow with that low a tread, I'm now going with a new set of Eagle GT's:

Last year, the Tire Warehouse tested the then new Eagle GT's against 3 other Ultra High Performance All-Season tires:

"Goodyear Reinvents an Icon"
Goodyear Eagle GT
Continental ContiExtremeContact
Kumho Ecsta ASX
Yokohama AVID W4s

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tests/...y.jsp?ttid=113

In the Performance categories, the GT's won almost hands down (Dry and Wet testing).

The only thing the GT's did not excel in was Ride/Comfort.

So they go on my car this afternoon ...

Good choice .... I had the Neros on my car as well, and they were a terrible tire. Wore like crap, handled like crap, and had shitty dry/wet traction. I love my Goodyear Eagle GT's !!! Fantastic dry/wet traction, handle like a dream, and are wearing great so far.

Better at what? According to what source?

Regardless, the tread pattern of the GT looks much more sophisticated to me than that of the F1's.

The Eagle GT's are deff. a better tire than the Eagle F1 A/S-C's you are showing man. I looked into both of them. Check out the stats on tirerack, and you will see the Eagle GT's are superior. I don't know what other Eagle F1's are out there, but the Eagle GT is a fantastic tire.

I've been looking into tires too. I'm also running Pirelli PZero Neros. They worked out pretty well in the snow when I lived in Utah. Now that I'm in Virginia I've been looking for a good wet/dry tire. Eagle GT's are Dec on the top of my list.

The GT's are only good for a year? I hope that was a joke. These tires are guaranteed for at least 50,000 miles. I love them. I put them on back in October. I paid $600.XX for them. What did you all pay? I put them on my stock TC rims.

Mine are wearing great. I only drive my car in the spring-fall months, but I expect to get way more than a year out of them judging by how well they have worn since july.

"For drivers that want the most out of their cars, its Bridgestone or nothing"

Congrats on new tires but there are much better options available IMO

This is an all season performance tire. My son is going to install his second set this weekend. Lasted him a year. I installed them on my SS/SC a few months ago. The tire is great for the price range but they are not Bridgestones which are the best tires on the market IMO.

You won't be disappointed with the tires. They do well and you can feel when they are going to break free.

explain how they are better .... have you ever owned the eagle gt's? have you ever tested both tires back to back? i want to know why you think they are better, because it seems like you are making more of a personal preference statement.

I checked it out .... looks like Goodyear rates them a step above the GT's. I deff. like the carbon fiber reinforced sidewalls. Maybe i'll try them once my GT's wear out ....

My Mom's G6 GT has the GT's on it, and they seem to be a pretty good tire. I drove it in the snow and they worked well....much better than the stock continentals.

My son used them in the snow last year even though he has rims for dedicated snows. They seemed to do well for him that he is not purchasing dedicated snows even though he has the rims.

Eagle GT's FTW. Nice to have a tire that's non-directional.
