Hello all, i was wondering what would be some good winter tires for my car that are more affordable..

My Konig unknown rims size are 18's..

on there site it says these size tires can fit:
7x18: 215/45R18, 215/40R18, 225/40R18

my rims though are 7.5 wigth, does the .5 loss mean anything in terms of this..

I have to get new tires within a month because my nankang ns-2's suck very very bad in snow but are awesome in rain and dry..

I am very nervious to drive my car in snow.. i can go 15MPH and still slide bad..

What is a decent tire for a reasonable price.. I do not make a bunch of money as i am out of work at the moment on workers comp.

snow tires for 18s are very pricey, iirc they started at $250 each. your best to look around for some steel wheels and get snow tires for those. look on craigslist or other clasifieds in your area, 4x100 wheels are very common and you may even be able to find some used but good snow tires on rims for an affordable price.

 

oo yea thats right i can use steelies lol.... i can get steelies at the junkyard from my cousin who works there.. what do you recommend though for some steelies that are 15's or 16's..
