hubcentric rings

What are hubcentric rings??..do I need them to mount Motegi DP 20 rims on my 2006 SS/SC??....i have installed aftermarket rims a few times on my other cars, but have never heard of this "hubcentric ring" item...after searching here I guess it helps center the rim, and reduce vibration??......."the vehicles hub diameter (for the purposes of using hubcentric rings) is 65.1mm"..........I think my rim fits 5x110 and 5x120 bolt pattern...just wondering if I should try to buy these before I mount thre new rims this week....thanks for any help

I ordered my wheels from BigWheels.net and my MKW M71's came with them. I put them on and haven't really noticed anything different about the ride from the stock ones. So, I'd say put them on, they don't hurt, and better to be safe than sorry. I'd rather put them on and not need them than not put them on and wish I had after all that work. Then you gotta take them all off and start over.

doesnt matter what bolt pattern, they are usually used as spacers, if the type of rims you have need them, then put them on for sure, and make sure to take them off or else when you put any other wheel on it will go nuts and shake and be way off....trust me......

4 lug uses 57.1mm, you also need to know the bore of the rims. I have a set of 73X57.1 that didn't fit my rims. I'd sell them for $10 + shipping.

i'll have to see what the bore of my wheels are. i've been tryin to find out for a while now. i guess i'll just have to get a set of calipers and check em myself. i'll keep that in mine though that you have some for sell..

It seems the 65.1mm is the inside ring measurement for 5-bolt pattern...but I need to measure the rims to find outside measurement for the hubcentric rings....if they are 73.1, is 73.0mm close enough??....I can find 73.0 with 65.1, but not 73.10.....anybody know??....looks like they cost like $15 or something for the plastic ones...

That should be close enough.
