Why would you not have snow tires if you live in Winterpeg? lol. If you want tires that will provide good traction year round, they don't exist. You will get better results with dedicated summer performance tires and snows for winter.

bfg g-force super sports, great performance all season tire, did good in the snow for me and have better grip in dry and wet then my stockers did.

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tires....er+Sport+A%2FS

I recommend 225/45/17

Look for some used ones. If you have an accident, you will regret not having snow tires. Now that I have snow tires, I will never use all seasons in the winter again. Keep in mind that if you have 2 sets of tires and wheels, the tires will last longer time wise because you are putting fewer km's on them.

QTF.

I had winters on my Grand Prix and I'll never go back. I bought my SS in the middle of winter and once I realized I'd have to get new rims with the high offset or put winters on the stock 18's...I decided to just throw some Cooper all season performance tires on the stockers. I regretted it every time it snowed. I don't even care what it costs, I'm getting some 17's with winter tires for next year, I hate all season tires now.

You can find deals on tirerack for winter tires at 50% off.. thats how i got my blizzaks. 4 brand new tires and steel rims for like 350$(after 50$ MIR) + 70 shipped. WELL worth the investment. 500$ in tires or 20k car being damaged?

For summers I am looking at the Kumho's.. they're like 125 a tire right now

Sorry to threadjack, but does anyone have pics of 225/45/17s on a Cobalt? Any testimony about rubbing/fit up issues? I'd like to go with a wider tire for my SS/NA as well, but didn't want to go so wide that I'd have to deal with rubbing. And coming from the off-road world, metric tire sizes makes me scratch my head. Why can't they just go back to the good ol' 20X9R17 type of nomenclature?!?!

225/45/17's will be far from rubbing. 235/45/17's should even be okay, but I wouldn't go that wide unless your wheels are 8" wide or wider.

Hey Bumpin You seem to be tire/wheel savvy. Im looking at the MSR wheels preferably MSR 126 or MSR 113 in 17's 4/100 Bolt pattern. I know there are threads but i would like your personal view on what tires you think are Good All season Tires?

heres the link to the wheels im looken at. You think hyper grey or superfinish for either one? http://www.msrwheels.com/wheels_size.cfm?size=17

Agreed! You also have to consider that both sets will last longer time wise because you are only using each set for half the year.

I live in colorado, and use summer and snows, my summer tires are BFGOODRICH G_Force SuperSport A/S in a 225/45ZR17 and carry a Y performance rating. this tire was awesome all year and yes i drove them in the snow before my snow swap I went everywhere in my 06 ss sedan! Now the car is gone and those tires are in the shed with 5,000 on them and my new SS has 18's....

Speaking of Which anyone know NE1 who lives close to me and needs some good tires?! for cheap lol!
