Looking for some nice wheels

I bought a 2005 Cobalt about 7 months ago (base model) and would like to upgrade the wheels. Does anyone know of any nice rims that would go along with the original tire size? I would rather not have to buy new tires, but any info would help. Thanks.

Crap, should've put this in the wheels/tire section. But I guess this is kinda like my introduction post so maybe it'll pass.

But he didn't want to buy new tires... so he is stuck to the stock wheel size.... what 15's.... UPGRADE MAN.... Don't buy nice 15's... that defeats the whole purpose... go to wheelmax.com and get a set of 17s for like 5-600 bucks with tires... not the best but better than spending a grand on stock sized wheels!

Thanks everyone.

If I would get bigger wheels, wouldn't that throw off the speedometer and such?

More than likely yes, but if you match up the tires with the bigger rims to overall be the same size as what you have on now, it wont change it. I am having similar questions as I am about to purchase bigger rims. But if you were to go to a place to get your tires mounted and balanced more than likely they could adjust your speedo and such there.

Spend the $50 extra and get the PCM reflashed to match the new size, or make sure you match the new size tire diameter to the stock tire diameter.

Another question:
What's the difference between a 15X7 and a 15X6.5? Not sure what these numbers mean in terms of wheels.

tire width......... and you can get larger rims without throwing off your speedo..... As long as the tire/rim package is matched right for the combo will be the same diameter as the stockers. Just the bigger the rims you buy the lower profile tires you will have to install. My 18's are almost exactly the same overall size as my stockers.

Thanks for the info.

I saw that the standard base Cobalt tire (195/60/15) would work with BOTH the 15X7 and the 15X6.5 rim and I was just confused how that can even be possible.

What size are your tires?
I'm in the process of purchasing an 18" wheel and tire package and was wondering what the best tire size is. BTW, your wheels look good, get them from wheelmax?
