Needing new tires

Ok I have been looking for some new tires and have narrowed it down to 2. The only problem im having is the sizes would be different.

1. Size: 225/40 18 Tire: Dunlop SP Sport FM901 Price: $92.60
I really like the tread design and I have found some pretty decent reviews of them.

2. Size: 215/45 18 Tire: Kumho Ecsta SPT Price: $122.30
I like these too, and they are the stock tire size, and I found them a little pricier but they are the stock size. If I go with the kumhos in a 225/40 size they are like 86 bucks a tire, and if I go with a 225/45 they are like 99 bucks a tire.

What do you guys think of them? Is it a good idea to go witih a 225/40 or 45? Im new to buying sports tires so I need a little help.

I personally would not go with the kumhos. Then again it all depends on how much you have to spend on new tires and what your going for. I think if your looking for a lower price and decent performance then something like the Toyos would be good.

The reviews on the Kumho SPT are actually really good. I am getting tires within a week or so and I may end up getting the Kumho SPT or Falken FK 452. I am going to get a 225/45 in either one. Just because they are cheap does not mean they are bad...

Check out www.discounttire.com for some decent prices too.

Thanks guys, yeah I just want to make sure I do this right. I think I may go with the Kumhos then since I dont really want to get away from the original diameter.

Well 2 of em are getting bald, and the other 2 are about 50 percent. And when I came into work today I got a flat and had to plug it. Of course it was in one of the good ones. And I am not going with the DUnlops, heard some horror stories today, and I can get the Kumhos cheaper anyways. Thanks for all of your help guys.

Hankook Ventus R-S2 225/40/18 FTW! Those are going on my car tomorrow and they are $142 a tire.

Get the General Exclaim UHP!! They are awesome and a great bargain. Look them up on tirerack.com. They are ranked #1 in the ultra high performance summer catagory. My friend has them on his WS6 T/A. His 60 foot dropped .15 seconds consistantly after changing from the SPTs, plus they are lasting a lot longer than the Kumhos did.

I just put falken 512 on my car. They were $95 a tire from tire direct online and were free shipping. They have great grip.... Although u lose alittle bit of handling from the tires being soo soft. But overall i love the tires.. 225/40/18
