New Rims and Tires (PICS) SIZE CHANGE

So my 22nd B-day was yesterday. My mom asks what do you need from Best Buy as were coming home from Back to the 50's Car Show at the MN State Fair Grounds. I thought for a while and said nothing. Yea, I know. But I did say I needed new tires. She said go to discount, so we did.

Doing some custom quotes, I found out it's only like anothr $150 to get a set of rims and new tires rather than just replacing my tires on the stock ugly 18' rims on the SS/SC.

Decided on 16inch Konig Lace Rims on some Yokohama YK 580's.
I went up to a 225/55 rather than the standard 215 our cars have.

I'm glad to have made this change in rims size. To me it:
A. Looks better, drives nicer(MN Roads SUCK)
B. Drive's 100% smoother on the road
C. Much quieter tire so far.
D. Great Grip from a dig and rolls
E. Cars steering wheel turns so easily now.

Cons
Tires have tire roll feel in corners, but still grip and let me know when their losing traction.
I think this is just due to the larger tire on a smaller rim
I expected this but for the better ride quality, I'll live.

The rims look great and the tires look great on the car as well. I was expecting to dislike the smaller rims, but for the gains it has in comfortably, I wouldn't trade it for anything being it's still a DD.
Now I get all-season tires that last 60k without sacrificing performance.

Found a good article that helped make my decision on this.

Not feeling it in the least I think you gave up more handling than you realize.

However as was said to each their own and as long as you like it thats all that really matters.

I'd hope the ride would be smoother and "better" with them big tires on there haha. So much for cornering at high speeds though. I do appreciate a nice ride though but I'd rather be able to hammer through some corners.

1.1 inches taller than stock. Though he did good and got the tire height pretty damn close to stock.

Yeah between:
Original: 215/45-18
Upgraded: 225/55-16

The speed difference is ONLY 1mph if I was doing 195mph. ROFL Never Will Happen!

So if I'm doing 60mph on my gauge, I'm actually doing 60.3mph. Negligible.

Whoever said it was right, the exact height of my sidewall from stock is 1.06inches. But there's actual tread on this tire. LOL

Anyone know much about these Konig, I know there a somewhat reputable company, any special care I need to take with the rims to avoid corrosion or anything????

It looks good with more meat on it and I'm a fan of dropping wheel size helping to reduce un-sprung weight, but not a fan of the wheels and it looks like they're, at best, 7" wide. Not a fan of reducing width...
