I'm currently rocking 235/45/17 Toyo T1R's on my custom Rota's and love them. I hook up at the track when I used to spin, I hook up on the street where I used to spin even worse, and they were freakin awesome in the rain today as it poured all day. With a fairly low price, 280 treadwear rating, and the performance they put out they are the best damn set of tires I've ever run on period. Took a chance, and they turned out great!

I've had BFG KDW's before and those were pretty damn good as well, but I have a new favorite tire now.
Coulda said it any better just ordrerd my toyos T1rs 225/45/18 glad you like them can't wait to put them on mine my pirelli suck ass for traction.

Thanks, I'll look for the pics.
I'm still running on my original pirelli's and they suck in the snow here. I have 33,000 km and they are worn out. Also the general's are 170 each here plus install and taxes total comes to 860 canadian. So I'm ordering from tire rack, drop shipping them to a garage and driving across to Niagara Falls, NY to have them installed. I should save a little over 200 bucks even with the exchange.

I hope you are able to get traction with them..... good luck!!! I'll be looking forward to your real world feedback!!!!
interesting I will see what I can find out they received a AA traction rating with a total of 360 tread rating so they should be damn good in performance cus the rosso's are only a 200 AA rating

More of high class big wheels luxury tire that still provides good grip.

I'm sure you'll like the Toyo's. I read so many damn mixed reviews it drove me nuts looking for the right tire. I took a a stab with the T1R's, and I don't regret the decision one bit. In second gear in the rain, if I romped on it, the car would break loose. Now it just grips and pulls, and that is impressive in the downpours we get in Charleston. They hooked big time at the dragway, and on the street when it's decent temp out they hook great as well. Well worth the money, plus they are some of the lightest tires on the market as well.

I had the Falkons on my last car and they are awsome in all weather conditions and stick to the road way better than my current pirrellis

Goodyear Eagle F1 GS D3's to be a little more specific they are the sh*t. My friend hooked better with those than with heated drag radials on his Z/28. You can get them in a 235/40/18 for about 200 a tire, thats what I am getting when the time comes.

As of now, it seems like it's between Goodyear Eagle f1 GS-D3, BF Goodwrench G-Force T/A KDW 2, and the Toyo's mentioned above.

Do the 245/45/18's rub at all? I just got my wheels in, they are 18x7.5, and I was going to get some 235/40/18's on them. I really want to go with a 45 series because I do not plan on dropping my car and I think the 40 series would look odd without a drop. Any input?

40's are only a 1/4 of an inch smaller so you wont be able to tell the difference unless you always look at your wheels ... I plan on cleaning the tires today and taking some pics so everyone can see what a 225 40 looks like

Yeah, I'll have to check out the pics. Do you know if a 245/45/18 would even fit without rubbing?

I think the highest safe margine that anyone on the forums tried was a 235 40 but I think that's pushing it a bit so a 245 might be too much. 245 45 just seems slightly to big and tall

Gotcha. Thanks for the input. I guess I'll have to go with the 235/40/18.

well good ol winter season has grounded my picture taking as it is too dark out to get anything decent without using a flash which will make every detail stick out so I will get pics during the day tomorrow.

go with Yohohama Advan 048 P225/40r18 you wont be sorry. Awesome dry traction. next choice Falken 615's or BFG G-force KD's not the KDW's.

Why not the KDWs? KDs better traction off the line?

yes but you will get the best traction out of the Yokohama's 048. but they will not last as long. I dont really care how long they last just that I am getting great dry traction. Yokohama's right on that edge of wearing way to quick. it is important if you want better traction than the pirelli's. the pirelli is a good tire but the KD's will be some what better.
