New tires needed...

So I need new tires soon which sucks cus im saving money for home interior stuff for when my house is built. I can totally go and get the pirreli rubber again but I would rather get something better that last as long if not longer. so what are my choices? so far I am coming up short with searches but a friend recommended general exlaim uhp tires which according to tire rack are incredible tires that last a long time offer great performance compared to the rest of the comp in the same uhp category and are not pricey at all. is there a recommendation for tires? im looking for something just like the stock tires cept better performance

this is a review

One guy said after he bought these tires his car handled like a Buick. Now I understand. The unforgiving thing is that the sidewall is too soft, flexes too much. Not stiff enough. Got the picture? If you value handling what so ever dont get these tires. Quick lane changes ----, the car feels like its a boat sailing down the road, feels unstable and a little unpredictable. Its too comfortable. I had 3 Pirelli tires and one Nitto 555 on my wheels before the General Exclaim tires. I, after only 50 miles will be returning them and I shall be replacing the General tires
i believe negative reviews over positive. anyone could make positive, even employees.

who makes negative except those who had experienced?

yeah I read that one but if you read a few more you'll notice a 400hp srt-4 guy praising these things.

It all depends on what you want.....what do you want to spend, how much performance do you want, what kind of traction (wet, dry, both). Personally, I am sold on Bridgestones. I went to their test facility in Texas and drove the slolom on a wet pad. Goodyear, Michelin vs Bridgestone. It was alot of fun.
I've been using Bridgestones for several years and I love them. All of the performance tires I bought were exceptional in the rain and their Blizzaks can't be beat in the snow.

Nitto NT 555's , I've got them and love them!

I bought them for $146 a piece and couldn't be happier. Don't buy Pirelli rubber. **** is well over $200 a tire.

Nitto Zeo Gens they are the best tire ever sticky and long lasting i wanted something with great tread life and something that would perform. i did hours of research and these tires are the ones. they are the most underrated tire out i paid 115 a piece (i got the hook up) they are usually 130 a tire for 215/40/18 u wont regret buying this tire

I bought these guys from Tire-easy.com. Seem to be ok so far, have about 300 miles on them. The definately hook better than the stockies. And they were only 68.50 a tire.

Quoted for truth. Try out the Cooper Zeon 2XS, a great tire that is also made here in America for those who care!

I've had these tires on my car ever since I picked up the Rotas

however I can only compare them to Kumho Ecsta 711's...

on tread rating alone I would recommend them, if you're looking for a cheap performance tire that lasts a while you've found the right one.

One thing to note - the General Tire doesn't come in the OEM size, at least not on that website, and the Kumho does. 225/40 is pretty close, though, but not exact. I'm considering both of those when the time comes...although I'm still doing pretty well on the stockers.

215/35ZR18 XL
225/40ZR18 XL

those are the two closest sizes to the stock tire so either of those should work right? i mean it's only a 1/4 of an inch difference

225/40 is about as close as you can get. 215/35 is way too small.

For instance, if speedo reads 65 mph, your actual speed will be about 63.6 with the 225/40 tire, and 60.7 with the 215/35 tire.
