Cool Polish??

Has anyone tried to strip and polish their gunmetal Cobalt 18`s They would look so much better if they were Polished !!

If you do polish your wheels, you can't stop there. You have to clearcoat them or they will tarnish super fast and look like ****.

Not true, there are various ways to seal the polished aluminum without clearcoating them. I never clear anything I polish because it takes away from the deep high gloss look.

You can seal in the polish and deter corrosion by polishing with a product like mothers mag and aluminum polish, wenol, flitz etc. Then after you do that to get them cleaned and shiny I use Meguiars hot rims, it dries without streaking and seems to work great. I had polished rims on my old camaro and never had any issues with tarnish or corrosion. Of course with any polished material or coating you still need to maintain and take care of them. I live in NY as well, hope that helps.
