She's talkin 500 with everything (labor and such) included. The labor and extra costs of new wheels is usually in the 200 dollar range (on top of the price of the wheels).. MSRs would end up costing you around 700(ish) by your logic..

I powder coat I am not in your area however
Its a hobby for me so I do not have shop rental or anything like that.
At most it would take two pounds of powder to do a set of wheels. Powder is around 12 to 15 bucks a pound. as you can see the powder isnt that high cost but The prep If done properly Is what takes the most time and time is money. My stripper can strip powder from a wheel in 10 to 15 min blasting would take around 20 to 30 min per wheel to get them nice and clean. If its only one coat of say black you can coat and cure in about 30 min per wheel. I charge 50 a wheel for most stuff unless you want stuff taped off like a lip its extra because it takes more time and the tape isnt cheap. alum also does this thing called outgassing when heated anything traped in the alum will come to the surface and ruin the finish with a pin hole. They have primers for this to help and also the wheels can be heated without powder on them to help also. for 50 a wheel your not getting primer but you will get outgassing at most places. If you want them to be super nice ask your powder about clear coat thats the hot ticket I think as if they get scratched you can wet sand and buff out like paint. Make sure whoever you use you ask them what they do for prep I have seen and herd of shops doing half ass prep work and it can look ok for a while and then you start having problems with the finish.
