i just got these wheels about a month ago and had them mounted and balanced. as soon as i put them on my car it developed a pretty bad vibration between 80-85 mph and 110-115 mph. is it possible that the wheels are bent? they are brand new from tire rack.
should i go back and have them rebalance them?

get what is called a road force balance. you wheel may be in balance but your tire may not ber perfectly round. ive seen it alot where the tire itself is out of spec and sometimes a rotation of the tire on the rim can help. but sometimes you just have to get the tire returned to the manufactirer and get a new one.

how tight should the wheel be on the hub with the centric ring installed? as in when you put the wheel on the ring/hub with no lug nuts installed should it stay in place pretty well?

when the wheel is mounted properly it should not move at all. If it does, you've got a problem. The lug nuts should hold the wheel tightly to the hub.

i think you miss understood... i am talking about with no lug nuts installed... the lugs do hold them on tightly when installed. i am talking about when you first put the wheel on the studs and against the hub. should the centric ring be able to hold it tightly in place? or is it ok for it to still be a little loose?
oh ok, as long as you can't move it up and down, and it just tilts on the hub (like any wheel without lugs on would) it should be fine. If you've got the rings on and you can still get the wheel on, it should be fine. Make sure they fit tightly on the wheel, then take the rings on and place them on the hub, and see if they fit tightly. As long as it fits both places snugly, you've got the right size ring.
all these ******* tire shop guys drive me nuts.
all they do is run the balancer, throw weights in then over tq all the lugs with the gun
proper way to do it is run balancer, add weights, then run balancer to ensure it's zeroed out.
ive had one wheel out of balance(weight came off) for a LONG time now...that tire is a lot more worn down than the rest now and gets pretty bad vibes around 70-80
