Rial Nogaro Wheels and steering wheel shaking
It's simple, if the wheels aren't hub centric like the stock wheels are then it needs hub centric rings to compensate. Most aftermarket wheels are like this, because they need to be able to fit on different types of cars. If the tire shops said that the tires and wheels are smoothe on the balancer, then they're most likely fine.......unless the technicians were morons.
Sweet pics , hopefully they get the vibe issue solved for ya . Its probabaly gonna end up being a balance issue . The Nogaro's have to best wheel for the money out the there , they look sooo good on a SS . To bad there so heavy , well ...as heavy as the stock wheel anyways .
He said there were rings and that they were cracked. If they were hub centric then there would be no rings at all because there would be no possible room for them to fit.
Well, if the rings cracked because they don't fit what else could the problem be? I have had three shops balance and inspect the wheels and tires and they say there are no defects in them. When I rotate the tires front to back as well the steering wheel still shakes at 70mphs. I doubt that all 4 tires are defective. Any one have any ideas?
its either something broken on the car (but u say its fine with stock wheels) or a bent wheel (u said u had them checked) or a fucked up tire (but u again say they are fine) these wheels dont need hub rings, and they should NOT be installed.
get the tires that are on the stock wheels, and put them on the rial's. this should determin if its the wheels or the tires. i would not be surprised if its the tires, as from my time spent in the tire industry, goodyears are garbage. they all probably have heavy spots that are not visible to the eye, and no amount of balancing will get rid of.

I am going to put the stock wheels back on again and see if I notice anything. I already did this once but I am going to check again. Next, I will put the stock tires on the nogaros and see if there is still a problem. Will the 215/45/18s fit an 18x8 wheel? I think it is the goodyear tires. I will keep you all updated. Also, I am not going to bother with the hub rings.
215/45/18 will fit the wheel but u'll be stretching the tire..... can be unsafe, watch urself...... i'm starting to believe the tires has flat spots, do u know if they were sitting around for awile before they were sold?
I am not sure if they were sitting around for a while. I purchased them from Tirerack.com.

if the guy putting them on ***** them up, its got absolutely nothing to to with them being a 215. the width of a tire really has no affect on the difficulty of mounting the tire on the rim(within reason of course) the little difference between a 215 and a 225 wont matter. a skinnier tire wont even be difficult to get on the rim, but it might take work to air it up and get the beads seated properly. trying to mount a wider tire though(like a 275) would be more difficult to get the beads on the wheel.
I don't think I am going to bother with putting the stock tires on the nogaros. I don't want a shop to mess up my wheels. I am going to try putting the stock set up back on and test things out once more. Then if there is no problem, I will insist it is a tire problem and will get them replaced. If the goodyear shop won't do it I think tirerack.com will.
BTW, thanks for everyone's help. I hope I solve this problem soon.

IT WAS THE TIRES! 3 out of 4 were bad after a road force test. It took forever to find a road force test machine around here. I am going through tire rack to get 3 of the tires replaced. The local goodyear dealer won't replace them for me because they don't have a road force machine and can't detect the problem. Well, slowly things are coming together. I wonder if the tires were just sitting in a warehouse for a long time. Thanks everyone for the help.
