Smelling tire rubber

Well, I just bought 4 new continental extreme winter contact tires for my balt about a month ago. Well, they are very soft and I know my car is a little out of line and my back rims are bent a little but it drives straight and smooth. The steering wheel is of just a tad. When the roads dont have snow on them, I can smell my tires really strong when I get out of the car. When there is snow, I dont smell them. Has anyone else experienced this? It is probable because I need an alignment but maybe it is just because my tires are so soft. I know we have tire shop guys on here, anyone have any idea. Thanks.
