what are they painted Gunmetal with a clear coat?
or are they polished with a tint in the clear coat?
my uncle says the second one and i say the first,
my wheels are chipping and i hit one by accident so i wanna get them all done over again so i need to know so i can order the paint and redo them

They are painted with silver basecoat and then cleared over. I would not recommend painting them yourself if you do not have experience in that field. I have seen too many "do it yourselfers" come to my shop and it would have cost them less to let me fix the original problem instead of fixing their screw up and the original problem. Most collision centers and tire shops have connections with wheel repair companies that can make your wheels look brand new. I do not know what they charge in your area, but in Texas the charge between 120-150 per wheel.
The paint code for the rims is not located on the car. That's part of the reason why you would have to take them to a wheel repair company. They are usually the only ones that have that info, unless you just pick a color that is close and paint all 4.

You are going to have to take your best guess at it and mix it yourself. That is really your only option. Find a color from a paint chip book that is close, try tinting it and then shoot them. That's about your only option.
well my uncle did match my cousins BMW rims to paint them Gunmetal just like mine since she wanted them to be like that but the car didnt look good so we just painted them the same color as the car, but i will ask him to look around
