struts or axles

quick question. how do u know if u need new stuts for the front. every morning the car feels weired. it also takes the bumps on the road much harder. i just want to make sure its the struts not the axles.

Jack the car up so you can pull the dust cover up. If there is fluid on the top of the strut, the strut is blown.
