BFG KDW's are awesome in all weather... well, DRY and WET, with snow performance being about as good as you can get in a non-snow tire....
*edit - I run KDW's! lol

I went to a 225/40/18 Yokohama AVS ES 100. I take my car to the track and drive it all year long. They perform very well in both wet and dry conditions and I was able to get 15,000 miles out of my first set with tread to spare. Best part is that they are about $180 each.
I would say the nitto 555 have been pretty good to me,as far as tred life goes, i have had them for about 12,000 miles and they are still in GREAT shape, i think i can get another 12,000 easy. they are not great for launching, they are kinda hard tred, bit they grip great in turns and stuff. so,..its up to you, they are not a racing tire.
