worn tires give you phenomenally higher dry traction compared to full skid. thats why tire rack offers shaving.

up to a point...as I learned with my evo performance drops off once you are within 1mm of the cap ply, but if you let it go that far you are at 120% of the wear life of the tire anyways....you're not even in tread compound anymore.

You can't run steelies with the brembos, you need at least 17" wheels. Just search around for a set of 17"s that clear the brembos. I ran Drag DR-34s with a 225-45-18 tire with no problems, went great in the snow.
