I picked up an incredible deal on 4 16x7 Saab 9-3 wheels with 205/55-16 NordFrost snow tires today . 90% tread left , and the Saab oem BBS wheels arent to painful to look at . Keep your eyes out if your still looking for tires and wheels for your SS . This is the 3rd set of Saab wheel/snow tire packages Ive seen over the last month that went pretty damn cheap . I paid $595 , then just picked them up in Chicago . I kept looking for G6 , Malibu or Saturn L-series wheels , but the Saab is the only thru the roof deals Ive seen over the last month .
Now I can have some controllable fun with it

Haha , kinda the same thing I have in mind . I'm gonna throw slicks on 2 of the them this spring . It was kind of a rush job getting them on , so I didnt get to weigh them . I will at some point though . The imaginary scale says one of the Saab wheels with a heavy snow tire feels a tad lighter than the stock 18 on the pirelli .
Glad mine sits safe in storage without the harsh winter effects and knowing I don't have to spend another dime on rims and tires to drive it.
Looks good but.... you guys are crazy driving your SS in the snow. Can't count how many Domestic and Import cars I've seen in the ditch lately.

Running with a much smaller overal diameter than stock isn't such a good idea. Less sidewall means potholes will eat you up more, plus your car is now sitting lower overall so you will scrape more and snow plow more.
Not to mention you will now burn more gas too.

Saab 9-3 wheels , saab 9-5 wheels , g6 wheels , malibu wheels ( 04-06 only )
Heres a couple to watch . One is stealie 16" g6's . The other are 17 chrome G6 wheels , all seasons with 500 miles . no reserve

B-spot - Sitting side by side , there is less than 1/4 inch difference in height from the stock 18's . A true mile read 1.1 miles on the odo , so the diff is pretty minimal . Still gonna get the speedo corrected at the dealer though tomorrow . The tires are alot narrower and make them look smaller than are . It definately doesnt handle as good at all , narrower is better for snow traction though , and being right in line with lake michigan ALOT of snow we get .

haha, I agree man.... my baby is in the garage all covered up and clean..... i spent 400 bucks on a winter beater, with snow tires...... my 4 door 89 cavalier, auto...... not much fun to drive, but it is still good for sliding around in the snow, the salt and sand in upstate new york will take the paint right off the SS, and i def. didnt want to deal with that...... no rust either, im going to work on it all winter, and she will be already for the spring and summer months. Doing my pully swap, installing my new subs, painting the silver plastics arrival blue, putting on the intake, strut bar, and torque brace. I also want to find another set of pillars and mold tweeters into them like i did in my old car, then sand them smooth and paint them to match aswell. if anyone knows where i can get pillars, or better yet a part number, pm me
