I am looking to get some tires for my Cobalt as I am in great need of new tires.. I am still riding on the stock tires that came with the car and I am in the 64,000km range.. So as you can tell I am WAY past due..

I am looking for a good deal.. and I think I may have found it.. I priced out new tires and they were around like $800 from a guy installed and balance but they are like no names.. So I found these Falken's this guy is selling on rims.. but the rims will not fit so I asked for the tires.. He said I could have them if I pay to have them dismounted.. So I offered him $400 for the tires and the dismount.. So I am acutally paying like $300-$350 for the tires..

They are Falken ZX512 225-40-18... He thinks about 80% left on them.. He put about 10,000km on them.. I have a bunch of pictures he sent me.. I am hoping you group of nice people can tell me if I am getting a good deal.. I think $400 for 4 tires that are almost new is a pretty good deal..


So far the best price I see.. for brand new tires including install with taxes is about $670 for the exact same tires.. So I am saving $270 and I am sure balance and stuff will only cost me about $50-75... So I am saving about $200..


What do you think of the deal and what do you think of the tires?

I would go find a new one and do that penny trick. Then match up the picks To me they look ok bet then again i would just go buy some new ones.

These have been discontinued for quite a few years. Might want to check into why before buying them.
