Which Tire?

Okay, I only want an opinion on these 2 tires. Please refrain from saying, I would get Pirellis, or Kuhmos, or Nitto's, etc.

The 2 candidates are:

1. Hankook Ventus R-S2 225/40ZR18 XL for 385.44 shipped to my house.

2. Federal 595 225/40ZR18 88W for 348.58 shipped to my installer.

Take into consideration quality of tire, look of tire, convenience of delivery, and price.

Thanks guys/gals.

I picked Hankook because I got those for winter tires. Hope they work well.

You use that exact tire for winter? How do they do in the snow?

Yeah...what he said. Those are extreme summer tires. If they do good in winter weather too, I may be sold.

holy ****.. no summer tire will work below 40-50 degrees. I hate both, but voted federal for its tread pattern.

Yeah I like the tread pattern on the federal. I know I could use better tires, but I burn through tires bad. I figure a cheap decent tire that is kind of sticky, will work for me. I have heard the hancooks hook up well.

at those who run summer performance tires in the winter! GET SNOW TIRES! They are worth every penny. It may be the difference between life and death, either for you or the person you would hit with summer tires on! In the end, it won't cost any more to have 2 sets of tires because you will be using each set for half the year. Both sets should last you 3-4 years unless you drive like a spazz!

I just got falkens $78 each and they were rated #1 tire with nittos in 2007 for best all-season performance tires, so cheap doesnt always mean shitty. Sometimes $100+ tires arent always the best.

To the OP go with the Hankooks man, i almost was gonna get those too but decided to get the falkens again for wet grip.

I currently have the RS-2's on my car. They are an okay tire but they will wear fast and they get a little greasy when you get them hot. With a 200A treadwear they will last about 10-12K miles. One thing that I like about these tires is that they are pretty quiet even now that they are down to the wear bars.
