I got some Kumho Ecsta MX's and they stick like crazy. There wear on them is pretty good for how soft of a compound it is. I personally think its a great tire.

KDW's are more for camaro's and cars like that, but they are a great tire, I thought the Ecsta's gripped a little more than the KDW's. And for the price you cant beat the Ecsta's. For 225 40 18 their $106, the KDW's are $176.

yeah the spt's, the mx is an extreme performance tire, the spt is just a high performance tire, and the kdw is and ultra high performance tire. Not saying that means much but the MX, I have yet to spin those tires they grip so good. Im not saying the KDW's aren't good, I just think they dont grip as uch as the MX's do.

Personally I think the SPT is a waste of a tire.

the spt is a good affordable tire. for autocross and driving around town you cant beat the KDW's the tread wear is great the MX wears out way to quick to use it for anything more then just a track or autocross tire

I was actually thinkin of the asx's, not the spt's, sorry. But my MX's having worn down that much at all and I run my car fairly hard. I think the KDW's would last a little longher than the MX's but not that much longer.

also that price for that one size tire is the only one that is that big of a difference between the tires. if you look and compare all the other sizes they are only $20 difference in most cases, especially in the size i run its a $26 per tire diff and the KDW 2's will last much much longer

the asx is an all season tire, cant compare that to a summer if your going that route

Id go with KDW's. I ran them before and was very satisfied plus Ive been calling around to alot of shops for reccomendations and KDW's are the highest reccomended for the price.

But that $20 per tire adds up, and since I replace my tires at least every 2 years anyways it would just be a waste for me. But you might not replace yours every 2 years like I do so they might last you longer, but for me ya know its just more money on a somewhat equal tire. Ya know?

i autocross with the tires and they last 2 years then i replace, the mx is a useless tire unless you are racing with it. to just buy it to drive around isnt the way its normally used or what most people buy them for. the KDW 2 is a superior tire by far in its all around design

im done arguing. KDW2 is my vote great all around tire and plus if you plan on using it to race you will be so happy

Thats why I bought the MX...to race with it. Not for an everyday driver tire. Thats why I plan on replacing them every year or two. If I didnt race every weekend I would have bought the KDW's for sure.

i autocross every single sunday during the summer and then use the same tires to drive around town

no big deal though my personal preferance is the KDW for its all around performance
