Will 225/40/18 fit on the stock rim? or should I go with the stock or 225/45/18?

second number stand for a percentage of width.

So if you have a 200 mm width and a 50 tire. The height would be 50% of 200 therefore 100mm.

so second number tell you sidewall height

225/45 is actually closer to stock tire circumference than a 225/40 is, but you can fit either without problems. For what it's worth, the 08 now runs a 225/40 instead of 215/45, but it has wider wheels, and is of course programmed for that size.
