Im looking into getting new tires but im having a problem. Theres a few problems that I have come across actually.....
1) If I put on smaller rims with new tires to reduce wheel hop, will it then affect the spedo?
2) Im looking for tires rated over 150mph so whats the letter ratings? Can you help me? ex: ours are now z rated on the ss s.c
3) If I put on fatter tires to grip the road to reduce wheel hop will it effect the spedo?

 

1.) Maybe, depends on what the apect ratio of the smaller tire is (225/XXR17)
2.) Z rated will do otherwise V is 149mph. Anything higher will be designated with a ZR rating with the following: W=168mph, Y=186mph (Y)=186+mph
3.) Width doesn't effect speedometer, once again it is the aspect ratio

 

215/50/17 or 215/55/17 will be a very close match. If you must go wider than that go with the 50 series to keep your speedo relatively accurate.
