Question Tire Options

I am looking for information on what is the widest width of a tire I can put on a stock 17in wheel. I have 205/50/17, how far can I take it? 215? 225? 235?

235/45/17's wouldn't be a problem. 245's may be pushing your luck. If you have 7" wide wheels, I would go with 225/45/17's.

i had 215/45/17's on my car and they looked pretty nice and wide. Get some pics of a 225 if you get them, I'd like to see the width and height in the well..

The 225/45R17's are pretty close to the stock tires overall diameter.

215/40/17 & 225/45/17's are the same as the stock diameter, so your speedo won't get screwed up.

use this --->http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html
that will give you and idea.
