hey guys on my 2.2 i lowered it with sportlines. i currently have 18" rims on i believe 215/35/18 could i fit a 225/40/18 on there or would i have problems? i need new tires and i cnt find anything thats cheap. but that 225/40/18 is wayyyyyy cheaper then any other size for some reason

 

you shouldnt have any problems at all

thoes prices were from tire rack......lol 18's are expensive but like i said the 225/40/18 are wayy cheaper for some reason then any other size.

 

225/40 18 is more common , i think thats why its cheaper. but the only thing is that its a larger outer diameter tire than what you have on there now so your car will travel faster than what your speedometer says its going (since you travel a longer distance everytime the tire spins around one time).

 

True... but the difference is not going to be enough to make any noticeable effect on the speed. The 18's(225's) will only be a .2 inch difference.. with that small amount u'll be getting a good reading on your speed.... the 215's will throw it off becuz they are actually shorter than your stock tires(if you have 205/55/16's like me its like an inch shorter)

 

yep your right the 225 40 18 are closer to the origional tire outer diameter, i diddent even check that, lol. I just knew the two sizes he posted were way different.

 

i have 17s with that tire size and its no problem.
