I have seen ppl on here run 225/40/18, stock size is 215/45/18. So you increasing the tread width by 10mm and sidewall is a tad shorter and inturn stiffer .

Okay, 225's work but the question was what is the widest tire that will fit. Isn't anyone running 235's on an 18 X 8. I am really interested in this question too. I really want to get 235 tires!

some of the guys here have put 235/40/18's on stock ss/sc wheels without trouble. some have even been able to lower the cars with that size street tire with minimal rubbing.

Id say go 225/40 but some people are running 235/40 and they look a little too big for the stock ss/sc rim.

Running 245/40/18s on BC SPORT COILOVERS fully lowered, with barely a fingers clearance. (8" rim)

Rears rub when going over bumps in the road at 40+ mph. Other than that, clearance is fine.

Geez another one of these. Well once again:

90% of people here can get away with running 235/40 on the stock 18" SS/SC wheels.

I do, and I am lowered, and I have no rub at all.

Please search next time.
