tire sizing question

Is a tire that is 205 45 16, the same height as a 205 45 17? is the only difference that the 17 is more low profile?

No the 17 " will be a whole inch taller overall the 205/45 R 16 will be approximately 23.3 and the 205/45 R 17 will be 24.3

if your looking to go from a 205/45R16 to a 17" wheel you'd want a 205/40R17 if

if youre going from a 205/45R17 to a 16" wheel you'd want 205/50R16
