No, not from normal wear and tear anyways.

 

I replaced mine at 25k

new set will last almost twice that.

 

okay, so Im looking to buy new rims, and was going to stay at the stock size only because i have 8,000 miles on the car and thought GM replaced tires. In this case, there is no reason to stay stock size since I have to buy tires eventually anyway..?? ( I dont know if thats a question or if Im just thinking out loud)

Well you burn the **** out of you're tires if they only lasted 8,000. Why would you expect gm to pay for something that was you're fault?

 

I think most last from 10 to 25k, depends on how hard you drive.

 

My tires are in great shape. I was saying I have 8k on the car meaning that if GM replaced tires under the warranty, I still have a couple years left of driving until the 36,000 miles. therefor I would just buy 18s that the stock tires can go on, drive till they are bald, throw them back on the stock rim, have gm replace them, put them back on my wheels, and be off. But since Gm doesn't replace tires for just wear reasons, I might as well buy the size rims I want with tires now since I will have to buy new tires for my stock rims in a another 6 months anyways

Tires are one of the few items that come on new cars that are not covered by the auto manufacturer. Instead, they are covered by the tire manufacturer's warranty for whatever period that brand/model/version tire you have. Your car should have come with a little pamphlet from the tire maker when you bought the car. If it came with a high-performance summer tire that doesn't have a tread wear warranty then they may only replace it if there's a defect such as the tread falling off. If you bought a new car that came with all season tires that have a 40k mile tread wear warranty from the tire manufacturer then you may be covered if they go bald before then (on whatever terms the tire maker has, which could be pro-rated coverage).

Some auto makers have a 1/12k warranty in addition to bumper-to-bumper that does cover wear items such as brake pads, light bulbs, clutches, wiper blades, etc. Sometimes if you have a defect in the tires they will also cover them and not make you go through the tire company. If you have an alignment issue or something that causes them to wear out you might also get it covered, but if you're roasting the car through the gears and wear them out don't expect any assistance from the dealer.

i got 24000 on the stock pirellis.. could of stretched it more but i hated those tires soo bad.. got some nitto neogens, and never looked back...

 

with only 8k, they may help you out, i know chrysler was assisting people on 300s b/c the SWEET continentals they put on only lasted 18-20k at best.
