Tires TOO sticky?

Is it better to have a really sticky tire, or a tire not as sticky that slips a little. I'm asking this in reguards to auto crossing. i was thinking that too sticky of a tire would be harder on the drivetrain. i currently have the BFG T/A KDW 2's and they slip quite a bit in 2nd gear when the boost kicks in....any suggestions on what tire would be good for auto crossing?

well its better for your lap time to have "stickier" tires as you put it but its harder on your bearings clutch and transmission.

Slippage means less torque is being generated and we all know, torque wins races.

trade offs trade offs.

I run RE11s exclusively.

But if I was looking into R comps I'd be looking at the Hoosier A6's or Yoko Advan AD08s

If your spinin, you ain't winnin. That applies to all forms of racing. Racing is hard on your car period. A little spin will not decrease that. Good tire advice mentioned above.

The logic in the OP makes absolutely zero sense. You won't find a tire that will "outperform" the drivetrain on your car, at least in the sense you're talking about. GMS1 has got what, 320 lb-ft? Yes, you'll still understeer while autocrossing because that tends to happen when you send 320 lb-ft to the front wheels.
