Warning! Yokohama AD08 abuse.
Warning! Yokohama AD08 abuse.
Under 5000km and 5 track days on them-
They cannot take any hard core track abuse. Chunks of rubber is flaking off the outer edges of the contact patch.
Wear and max grip is very good on the street, very happy here. But I needed them to be competive in competition and sadly they are falling apart on me.
Just a friendly warning till futher notice. I will post feedback and pics as soon as I know more.
I am in the proses of contacting a Yokohama rep to see if we can find out why it happened.

Wow was always under the impression these were one of the best all around performer. They were probably gonna be my next tire. If it's hot and dry go Kumho XS, You will not be disappointed....well, until it rains.
Still waiting to see the rep in person, but so far it does not sound good. I may have to buy another set to finish off my season.

I`ve read hrs of reviews online AND watched some of the fastest cars on these tires on the track last year. It definately seemed like the best choice at the time.
Now I am not so sure. My NT05`s with more track days showed more wear but no flaking or seperation of rubber.
The Khumho`s are a good option right now, we have atleast 3 competitors on them and they are holding up very well.

THat is possible yes... we`ll see what the rep says.
This is the worst patch, there smaller ones all around the outside edges. Note this pic was taken atleast 500km`s AFTER the trackday. The scuffed rubber surface is gone. This tire was NOT underinflated.
