What's the best Performance Tire For the Price?
I've just about ran through the stock pirellis at 12,000 miles. My tires want to spin when launching and in high rpms in second gear. I was wondering what tires you guys are using? What is the best brand for the price? I know I want 225/40's. I just don't know what brand. Thanks in advance.

I have the Continental ContiExtremeContact. They are great all-season tires. They are still @ #3 after 25,000,000 miles of reviews. The others have either 128,000 or 873,000. So those are usually the ones that lost rank with more reviews. I love these tires.

If you are looking for a summer only tires. A lot of people like the BFG KDW2s.

Wouldn't 235 be too wide for mine with sportlines?
How fast do the bf goodrich wear? I don't want something that I'm going to go through in 15,000 miles or less.

My pirellis are done also. I know we have been over this topic but I have to ask again. Will 235s rub a little? I dont have any suspension work or anything. I was going to order KDWs 225/40ZR18 but id like to go 235 if there isint any problems
The pirellis defiantly suck. I had 1 defective tire at 800 miles. The damn tire just decided the sides of the tire did not want to be connected to the top of the tire anymore. both sides of the tire did this and sent me rolling down I-285 70 MPH with 3 tires and 2 side walls.
15K miles if you have any kinda fun with your car and your tires are GONE. I'm about to start showing wires

well, i live in good ole GA. so its pretty warm here, with mild winters. so i dont have to worry about snow. im trying to stay within about 700 dollars for tires. (give or take 100) . what would be my best bet?
If you want all season look at the Nexen N7000, I have found very similair if not equal performance to the pirellis and much better wear. I have always liked Kuhmo as well as far as best bang for your buck.

Also, you don't HAVE to get crappy rims for the winter, but steel rims hold up a lot better to salt than aluminum ones.
To all of you guys talking about the G-Force's, the KD series are SUMMER (D for DRY)tires, the KDW series is all season (Dry/Wet) and the KDWS is for all season where it snows (Dry/Wet/Snow). While I have heard the KD's are AWESOME summer tires, they wear quickly and I cannot vouch for them personally. However, I have previously owned a pair of the KDW's, and they handle VERY well both dry AND wet, and have decent wear (better than KD's for sure). But its all up to you and whats more important to you man... Performance, or wear?
