Hi Belto
First off, the racing Cobalts SS/SCs run 245 tires on 17" wheels. But the wheel offset makes a big difference and I don't know what offset they run.

I would suggest measuring this yourself. Kind of a PITA, but turn your front wheels to the stop, crawl underneath both sides and measure how much clearance you have from body and suspension pieces. Figure how much wider you can safely go, then double it. For example if you can safely add 1/2" then 1" X 25.4 = 25.4mm wider tire.

Or, go to some of the tire company sites that list +size options for the car and see what they recommend. The +size system is designed for larger diameter wheels but will still give you an idea how wide you can go.

Hope this helps!
