will 235 fit on the stock 18" wheels?

1. thinking about getting kdw2's and just wanted to know if 235's will fit on the stock wheel?

2. also do you think i should get 235/40/18r? or 225/40/18r?

3. also should i get 45 wall so less chance of getting a bubble or something in the tire?

I have goodyear eagle f1 225 45 18. I think this is a pretty safe size to run. Jermzss is running 235, i think it should be ok. Tire rack and discount tire have them in plus sizing for our car. Should be ok.

you think the 235 helps more at the track compared to 225?

also i was probably going to get 45' profile because my stock tires i got a bubble in them and i figured 45 is better than 40? shouldn't be to much of a diff in looks.

also i am on stock springs

I run a 235/45/ZR18 minor rub on trim occasionally but not a problem.

you know if you mess witht he sidewall sizes that you are going to screw with the calibration on your speedo? I would go to tirerack.com and look up the stock tires and then look at the stock pirelli's and there is a chart on their website that tells you the overall diameter of the stock tires and I would take that number and match it up as close as you can get it to the tire and width that you're looking for...Gimme a sec I'll get links...

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...%3D145WR80ARXL

As listed in the above chart the stock 215/45/18's have an overall diameter of 25.7" and make 813 revolutions per mile

http://www.tirerack.com/tires/Spec.j...e1=yes&place=1

As listed in the above chart the BFG g-Force T/A KDW 2's in 235/40ZR18 have an overall diameter of 25.4" and make 819 revolutions per mile

As listed in the above chart the BFG g-Force T/A KDW 2's in 225/45ZR18 have an overall diameter of 25.9" and make 802 revolutions per mile

As listed in the above chart the BFG g-Force T/A KDW 2's in 225/40ZR18 have an overall diameter of 25.1" and make 829 revolutions per mile

The BFG g-Force T/A KDW 2's do not come in 235/45ZR18's

With this data the if you have your heart set on the BFG g-Force T/A KDW 2's (which are my choice because they are awesome tires!) the 235/40ZR18 is your best option because it is the closest to the overall diameter of the OEM tires which your speedo is calibrated for...

OK basically they are saying the stock Pirelli's are 25.7" tall so if you are going to change tires you want to make sure you get as close to the stock ones as possible because if you go too far in either direction your speedo will be off and it will screw with the mileage on your odometer as well. The smaller the diameter the more revolutions your tires need to make to travel one mile. That said the 235/40ZR18's are 25.4 inches tall and make only 6 more revolutions per mile than the stock Pirelli's. That's not bad and won't throw your speedo or odometer off my very much at all

Its kind of hard to tell if they help launching any. They mostly helped the look to me....filled the wheels wells up nice. I havent noticed any changes as far as MPH, MPG or anything like that with the 40 over the 45. I know if you ever plan on lowering your car I would def get the 40 just for the extra room.
