Well... threw a code today... P0420 catalyst effiencieny below threshold.. Anyone else get this after the install? i haven't been driving crazy so i dunno whats up.. Anyone have input???

 

I got that too the first day I fired it up but I cleared it and hasn't come back since. Maybe just because of the change? I dunno.

 

the performance shop i go to is closed,and will open monday,so im goin in the morning to buy a thicker gasket and will see if it helps..mine is barely noticed at idle,but when u get on it,u can hear a "air whistle" right under the shifter(header/downpipe connector..i will keep u informed

never had it come on..drove the car 2 days and never came on,and found someone local with hp tuners and had them delete that code and the lean intake code,as well as trq managment

 

your o2 sensor is programmed for the stock air flow, and now that it's seeing more air it's triggering the code. the car doesn't know that you put on a new header/dp w/a high flow. it just knows it's seeing more air. if there's no leaks or anything just delete the code.

 

It is cold enough in chicago to tell if you have a leak. You will hear the exhaust flowing more now because of there being more area for it to flow in. If you can't see any exhaust coming out from under the car then your gaskets are fine.

If your box was damaged and that dent happened because of shipping and you signed for it then you are out of luck. The reason why is because ZZP sent you a perfectly good header and it is UPS that made that mistake and you shouldn't have signed for it.

do one consensus with everything is zzp needs to package things better it seems

i have to say paper in a thin makeshift box sucks... some bubble wrap would help out and a cardboard divider between the header/ dp would be lovely

 

Oh and FYI, I climbed back under the car today and I know when I first installed it I tightened down those bolts between the header and DP as tight as I could get. When I got under there today, I was able to tighten them up probably another full 2-3 turns each and that got rid of the leak sound I was getting.

I don't know if the gasket shrinks/seals after it gets warmed up, but I would definitely check those bolts again and just make sure that they are as tight as possible.

 

that's pretty normal with any install. should always check the bolts after some driving.

 

after the install did you guys smell anything when you were driving? or is that just the new stuff on the pipes buring off. i dont have it anymore but i did

 

its just the pipes getting warmed up and breaking in.. its normal... Hey I heard someone talking about clearing a code.... will that happen on a 2.2?

 

oils from the bends, hands, etc. it's normal. should go away after a while.

God dammit!!! the CEL came back.. any ideas anyone?? i cleared the code twice and dissconnected my battery and it came back again.. Could somthing be loose?

 

i got a cel but only cause i left my sensor off and just left the hole open for a lil bit. but i put it back and after about 15 miles it went off....either im lucky or there is something wrong with your ****

yea, i would say a leak... maybe... double check your stuff man

 

It probably is not a leak cause the sensor is just sensing more air passing then normal. You will need to have someone take care of it with HPTuners.

mine still sais in process on the zzp site...hasnt shipped yet...is this the case for you other guys aswell..i was only 14 on the list..i understand if they hadnt made them yet..but havnt they already been made

 

did you pay the extra to have it shipped earlier? If not......then you have to wait for them to ship them.....which should be shortly since they have more then 25 people in the GB now.
