fuel pump rewire

I'm not here to bash anybody about anything I'm just here to shed some light on what I found. I got stuck about 100 miles away from my house because of this. I've been using this kit for about 6 months now so I know it was not something that I did wrong during install.

That is the relay it comes with.. Pump rewire is suppose to increase the voltage to the pump for higher fuel delivery at high rpms I believe

Interesting, I'll have to check mine, have about 30-40k on the rewire with a DW300.

well if it makes you feel any better thats probably not a 40a relay. you should pull it apart and check to see what kind of relay it actually is. then go buy a bosche one

There really wasn't any really. I had a sputter right before it stopped working... Smelled burnt plastic, then five mins later the car just died.

i think its this i tosed it in the trash already.

What's weird is the relay got hot but the wiring does not.

I did a little looking around and found that there is a momentary relay and a constant relay.
Momentary relay meaning nitrous control or something that is used for a very short amount of time.

Constant relay well that explains itself it is meant to run constantly like a fuel pump.

And the way they explained the momentary relate failure was exactly like this 1 it would end up melting under a small load before it pops the fuse.

right but theres a good chance that that 40a relay wasnt actually a 40a relay. audiopipe is a shitty brand meant to run car stereo equipment. im sure whoever made the fuel pump kit just looked into the cheapest realy they could find and would never pop it open to even attempt to see if it was actually a 40a relay. I just wanted you to check becasue if it was a 10a or whatever relay in all actuality then you could spend the 5 bucks or whatever on a new relay and that would probably be the end of it assuming those wires arent fucked now
