BriantheLion26 03-14-2008, 08:02 PM I have a lot more than 1500 miles on my DP from them and never had a problem. Hopefully you can get it figured out.
Jimmys2007CobaltSS/C 03-14-2008, 08:02 PM nope but i did go through new bolts cause the pop out and gave me an exhaust leak
redwingsfan91086 03-14-2008, 08:03 PM That same damn thing happened to my magnaflow exhaust, but it did last a good 10k before it did it.
Black SS 07 03-14-2008, 08:11 PM probably should add.... yes.... that is a BOLT ON DP.. lol the other part is still on the header
Mr_Slobalt 03-14-2008, 08:14 PM I've never really heard anything good out of ZZP's exhaust stuff. The Grand Prix/Regal downpipes they used to sell had bad flex pipes that would actually restrict the exhaust after time. Turns out the "weaves" would come apart on the inside.:thumbsdow
Zooomer is a stand up guy. I'm sure if you talk to him he'll work something out for you.

Yeah i know. thats why i'm not too worried. ive been a ZZP customer since early 2006.. spent a lot of money with them too. between the GP and SS im sure im over 5k spent with them. lol
for now i just have to run open header... oh well lol
Mr_Slobalt 03-14-2008, 11:09 PM AH, I didn't notice your sig
I've been a customer since '05 probably
Z Speed 03-14-2008, 11:15 PM had there 3 inch catless dp for 17k at least and never a problem
RollOver360 03-14-2008, 11:16 PM Wow that sucks. I just installed my ZZP midlength header/ dp combo and in less then 24 hours (only 20-30 miles of driving) 1 of the "Grade 9" Bolts snapped. I think it was a combo between 1 the "Grade 9" bolts are a cheap chinese knock off and 2 the bolts are 3/8" and the wholes in the flanges are 7/16" which has a lot of play and could cause the bolts to break. So I upgraded to some 7/16-14 X 2" Grade 8 Yellow Zinc plated bolts with 7/16 Hi-alloy lock washer, 7/16 SAE Thru-hard washers, and some top lock flange nuts. Im hoping the setup lasts longer then the stock set up. lol. Also I have a weird ass noise that I cant figure out. Good luck man, let us know how u make out.
late
Mr_Slobalt 03-14-2008, 11:44 PM this is part of the reason why my exhaust is staying stock...it's loud enough for me
Raven SS 03-14-2008, 11:46 PM looks like ur running a little rich...blame ur tuner

lol header and DP isnt for noise... im keeping the stock catback for that reason.. then just running a cutout when i race.
looks like ur running a little rich...blame ur tuner
its just the base tune from zzp...
no other tuning has been done..
Raven SS 03-15-2008, 12:03 AM out the box tunes are alright..but there too general..not dialed in for ur car..i recommend getting retuned

no other tuning has been done.. Oh I know. If I replace part of the exhaust, the rest is being replaced along with it. It's just how I am.
saunders1986 03-15-2008, 01:33 AM ouch

I had that same tune, and lets just say I had a AFR in the 13's and 30 degrees of timing. I would suggest going and gettin a REAL tune ASAP.

forced_induction 03-18-2008, 12:54 PM damn im bout to put mine on tomorrow, hope i dont have the same problems
Area47 03-18-2008, 12:58 PM they used the wrong type of flex pipe.
sick06cobalt 03-18-2008, 01:00 PM man... ive never had a problem with mine but i do need a new cat... mines fried...
zinner 03-18-2008, 01:07 PM I have had a ZZP 3 inch hi flow cat pipe for over a year with no problems (with that flex pipe type). It doesn't look like that pipe in the 1st post. What kind of pipe is that?
freakta 03-18-2008, 01:10 PM i have major problems with the zzp setup also. my header doesnt mate up to my downpipe correctly and i had to make my own gaskets that were thick to close the gap. also my bolts were no good, so i got some better ones and some better washers to make it fit. then i found my cat was no good, the 3 inch high flow. we dynoed my car after i put everything on and broke it in correctly and i lost hp. so i cut the damn thing out and it was solid black inside (yes i have a great tune) and if i turn it around there was stuff rolling inside it. so i too have had no luck with there products.
SSMOKEM 03-18-2008, 01:20 PM happened to me as well, after a month of driving.
