So I'm considering getting a cobalt
I can get a pretty good deal on a ss/sc, now I'm kinda confused with it because I'm somewhat new to car stuff and wouldn't a 2.4 end up being faster then a 2 liter?
Also what kind of stuff should I be looking for when buying one of these?
Whats the first mod I should do to one when I buy it?

If you took the supercharger off the ss/sc then yes the 2.4 would be faster, lol...
Good first mods would be an intake, or GM offers Stage Kits for the ss/sc too

Just try to look the car over good and make sure it wasn't beat up. The previous owner could have beat on it and had it wheel hop a lot, this ill lead to weak axles and the tranny could be bad. You could check out the pulley on the supercharger and see if it is stock or not. If it is pressed on its stock, if its got 4 or 5 bolts its aftermarket.
First mod, an Ingalls torque damper or a solid top motor mound is a good idea. Helps get rid of the wheel hop you will get. I got hop all the time in the rain trying to get up my driveway. Pretty much gone now. Exhaust is always good too. Search around, there is a lot of good information here.
