this was my exact first thought. If you need a how-to its prob not something you should be doing yourself

You will definetly need new springs, that why you dont get valve float. It comes from aggresive cams and high rpms, the springs dont push the valve up quick enough before there next cycle. You will want new valves and keepers to I would imagine if your already tearing the head apart, better to replace the whole train. A tune is not gonna be very easy, according to area47 who put lots of time in on his tune and is good at what he does. I suggest you do not change the cams out in your car.

Its really not all that hard....start taking **** off until you see the cams...then add a timing chain holder (can be bought from vendors on the site)....then just takem out and put the new ones in...

wellits not too hard...i forget exactly how i did it last time....but i know youll need to remove everything from the valve cover and then take it off....then you have to figure out where tdc is on both cams...i think? not sure....after that you have to remove the cams and retainers which will expose the springs and such...the springs i do remember how to do...im just not sure baout the cams....i wouldnt go solely by what i say

Your going to need about a grand in Cams, 78lb Supertech valve springs, seat locators, retainers.

I wouldnt recommend somebody new to the game tackling it by themselves, find a friend who knows how and help them

You will definetly have to figure out where the cams sit, I dont know if yours came with markings for that. Its nothing im gonna do on my car, to much weighing on a new car, I need that to be running good 100 percent of the time. Yea, take out the cams, compress spring, remove keeper, decompress remove valve, spring and seal and so on. Good luck. Lots of money.

the hardest and most nervous part to me is setting the timing

everything else is easy, just time consuming.

This may have a certain degree of truth to it, but if that were the case, then why would there be any how-to articles?

Clearly, a how-to is for someone who did not have that information in the first place. When have you looked at a how-to article without looking for information about the topic discussed?
