Just an idea..........I got my cobra h/e, and I custom made some brackets (you guys are going to drool over these brackets, I'm a aircraft sheet metal fabricator by trade), and I'm putting my h/e on tonight, and I know from when I had my thunderbird supercoupe, that a lot of guys ran a fan on the intercooler...................but that was air to air, not air/water like the cobalt.

Eh, won't driving it make more air pass through than a fan? Or is this to keep temps at idle low?

the fan would help no matter wat its pulling in more air then the h/e would normaly see the only time i could think of that it wouldn't really have an effect on would be at high speeds proly like 100+

keep in mind you need an enormous temp drop to see any difference. the fan wont be adequate and it will just add to the parasitic loss to your accessories.

I have put some on mine there are fans made specifficakly for the cobra h/e they aren't cheap though but I found mine used for cheap. I only use them at the track when waiting in the staging lanes.

your car already has 2 of these on them, they are located behind the heat exchangers. . .

if you put the fan in front the loss in surface area will probly damage your gains and if you put it behind the h/e the gains wouldnt noticable if not at all..cus the fan probly isnt pulling air harder then it is coming in....i think the cryo2 sprayer would work better than a fan

plus its just blocking more flow to the stock heat exchanger

I dont see the fan on the heat exchanger being worth the effort. I recommend just saving and getting a meth kit.

The fans would mount behind the exchanger.

it would be fine for sitting and idling a lot. moving it will create more of a restriction.

i was actually thinking of doing something similar but to the hood
i was going to get a CF or fiberglass hood with vents, and mount some fans on it to pull hot air out of the engine bay, sound like a reasonable idea or just a waste of time?

Not worth it IMO. To much work for something your not going to get any benefits out of. Just the vented hood will be plenty. As you know, heat rises and will find its way out of the vents on its own. In all honesty there wont be any benefit to having fans to pull it out any quicker other then giving you that extra piece of mind.

I would save the money and spend it on some real cooling mods (meth/h2o injection, dual pass, heat exchanger, etc..)
