here is a suggestion....not trying to be mean, this is the second thread, you really need to search before you post a new thread. :d

Hey, you're not the only one. I have an 05 ss and have had it stall on me and idle rough. Took it in and apparently there's no problem, sure! Try some inj cleaner and take it out for a rough spin, seems to clear up any cobwebs, at least for me!

My 06 SS does it as well. I took it in to get looked at (along with a boost issue) and they reflashed it. The boost is working great now, getting the whole 12 lbs, but I still get the idle problem from time to time. They told me there would be new programming out around feb I think. They said take it back then to get it reflashed again.

Try better gas. What type of gas are you using. If it is not from Chevron or any of the top tire group then you might have more of an idling problem. I believe this has been covered in another thread.

If the dealership downloaded the latest software, there is nothing else they can do. My own car does this now and then, (just about every time I pull into my driveway). I does not bother me, nor do I care. The vehicle does not stall or give any driveabitity problems what so ever from this issue. Don't worry about it.

I use shell or bp/amoco whatever it is now (the green station is what i call it...5star w/e) 93 octane...i dont think it has anything to do with gas...

Yes, it is normal. If you come to a stop and don't bring the gear out quick enough the car will bog down... When this happens it will "rev" the motor from like 600rpm to 1300rpm... and it should do it about 3 or 4 times. After that it will stop. Also taping the gas will make it stop to...

From now on when you guys come to a stop... take it out of gear before the tach drops below 1k.

I've only ever noticed it happening when I put the car into neutral and coast to a stop. it does it after the car has stopped for me.

You probably should have started your own Thread about this, cause it's off topic in this one, but I see it's your first post.
The SES light being on could be from alot of things. Need a DTC to verify the area of concern. There is no clutch sensor to my knowledge, only a clutch switch. Not sure if it will turn on the SES or not, (will check up on this at work), but if it is misadjusted it will prevent the cruise control from working. Already fixed a member of this forums car by adjusting these switches. There are a couple of switches that control the cruise conrtol.

there is no fix for this problem cuz everyone with an 06 with this problem that goes in will get" you have the latest software, there is no fix" as you drive it and put in good gas it gets better.

Well I don't know if this helps or not but see my thread called tensioner for timing chain. My car was idling weirdly at time rough. After awhile it started ticking like a bomb and sounding like a SEMI. So I took it in. I got the call yesterday that the tensioner for the timing belt is bad and that the timing is off. They told me it was the 2nd ss/sc they seen with that problem in a week. I asked him will this cure my weird idle issue. He said definately we shall see.....

I feel so much better finding out others have the same problem with their SS/SC.

I had a Ford Thunderbird SC and it started doing that but worse than what my ss/sc is doing. Turned out to be the idle air bypass valve boot was torn...

My car hasn't stalled but it has stumbled enough to dim the headlights 3 or 4 times before settling down to a 900 rpm idle. I still am on the gas the dealer gave me (124kms on car) so I will try Sunoco 94 to see if that helps...

My 06 ss/sc had the same rpm jump problem. i took it in and was told there was a recall because the main computer at the factory was programing the computer chip wrong. my dealership wiped out the codes and installed new ones. no problems since. general rule of thumb- 92 octane or better, don't drop below 1000 rpm, and drive it like it was designed. c-ya
